What is Creativity?

Creativity (crea·tivi·ty) has been defined as....

• "creativity n : the ability to create -" The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language, Fourth Edition
• "Creativity is marked by the ability or power to create–to bring into existence, to invest with a new form, to produce through imaginative skill, to make or bring into existence something new." -Webster's Dictionary
• "Creativity is defined as the tendency to generate or recognize ideas, alternatives, or possibilities that may be useful in solving problems, communicating with others, and entertaining ourselves and others." - Robert E. Franken: Human Motivation

These are just some of the few definitions of creativity. Creativity is the impetus behind some of the most important figureheads in our lifetime. Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Albert Einstein, and many other lesser known geniuses all used the creative process to get to where they are today. It has helped to create the technology I am using to write this web page! Creativity also breeds original ideas, creates new products, inspires artists, musicians and media.

The purpose behind this portal is to show some examples of how creativity has created and shaped some of the aforementioned mediums: Art, Music, Humor and Technology. By using the medium of the Internet, we will show you the products of the creative process and some links on where to find more information on them..
